My name is Nick Carraway. I live in the small house outside New York that
across the Long Island. I have a stable job in the city, I think everything in my
life is good and I love it. Although all is well, but I've been through a
harrowing story of a friend. His name is Jay Gatsby, a gentleman always made
me curious and I'm sure he's behind a lot of secrets.
17 June 1922
I saw my neighbor looking at me when I got home, he looked at me like he wanted to know something from me. He lives in a large villa with swimming pool, large lawn. That man is the new owner of the villa is extremely luxurious as a palace. I often think about that neighbor, the vast wealth of his and what he does. I'm not a greedy person I'm just curious. Only one thing I know about him is that people call him Mr. Gatsby.
19 June 1922
I got home Tom Buchanan, Daisy's husband, and she is my
second cousin. They live in a luxury house on Long Island. I occasionally visit
them and we ate lunch together. This time Jordan Baker was also present and we
talked together. I like the intimate encounters so. When I casually told
them that a wealthy neighbor who owns a huge mansion named Gatsby. Everyone
seems to have little attention about him, but Daisy always ask "Who is
Gatsby?" I do not care of her question because I knew she was always
curious about everything around. Also on that day, Jordan had let me know,
Tom has a woman in New York. It made me feel sad for Daisy, but I cannot tell
for Daisy because I know that it will influence Daisy and their family life. So
I do not know anything considered.
21 June 1922
I was really surprised when a gentleman brought an invitation to
my house, and the contents are Dance party at Mr.Gatsby's place. I thought
this is an opportunity for me to visit the vast mansion and I can meet new
people. But I feel weird because we had never met and know each other, but why
invite me to come through the letters in sincere words. The party has the
appearance of many people from New York City, including the singers, the elite,
the beautiful girl and the young man. Music were everywhere, I see everyone is
very excited. I also heard some people talking about Mr.Gatsby, they speculate
about his past. That made me more curious about Mr.Gatsby. I met Jordan in the
party and we have come together into the mansion. Inside the mansion is beautiful,
lavish beauty really surprise me. We asked people in the mansion for Mr.Gatsby.
I walked around the garden in the front yard and then I met a man, he
introduced himself as Jay Gatsby. I feel he is a man of secrets, he organized a
luxurious party but not much care about the guests, and also does not want
others to know who he is. When I returned home I had thinking about Mr.Gatsby
bit, but I believe that he is not a bad person. Perhaps intuition tells me
that.
22 June 1922
We went together to the downtown for
lunch. At a bar in downtown we met an old man, a friend of Gatsby. I feel he is
an illegal business man because he asked me for a business connection in
cooperative. Through his expression I think that's not normal in his business. I
am sure Mr. Gatsby is a complex business and relationships. That day I also met
Tom, he went alone. I was introducing Mr.Gatsby to Tom but Mr.Gatsby left. It
was a happy day for me because I had also become acquainted with a few new
friends.
1st July 1922
At a party at the weekend as usual, I met Jordan and she
told me that she wanted me to arrange for Mr.Gatsby he could meet Daisy for
tea. In my mind immediately raises the question, why then Mr.Gatsby to know
Daisy? Why not visit her if they were friends? But Jordan was me know Mr.Gatsby and Daisy have known each
other 5 years ago, and now he wants to see her again. I was a little confused
whether to accept it or not because Daisy is married. But I think the old friends
met, there was nothing wrong, so I accepted the offer of Mr.Gatsby.14th September 1922
I asked Daisy to come, before she come that Mr.Gatsby's workers have to clean everything around the house and brought many flowers to. It rained on that day, Daisy came to my house and surprised to see so many flowers. Mr. Gatsby was getting in my house with a wet suit. I saw that he was very nervous and a little shy. They met in the living room, but not much to say because I was there, so I had to leave so that they can be comfortable. I think I can fault with Tom, but Tom is not really faithful, once he took me to meet his lover. A moment later I returned to the living room, I saw Mr.Gatsby hugging Daisy. They did not seem to notice my presence at that time. I think they loved each other dearly 5 years ago.
Shortly afterwards, Mr. Gatsby has invited us to his place. Daisy was extremely surprised to see large mansion, luxury, fully furnished. I saw her very glad to visit Mr.Gatsby's mansion. They went everywhere together, and I did not want to interfere them so I stood as far. When Mr. Gatsby shows her the expensive shirt she was crying because she was so glad to see Mr. Gatsby success. I've looked at them from the outside, my feeling is hard to describe, I have to stop them or let Mr. Gatsby closer to Daisy. I think so, but I really do not choose either.

Daisy extremely confused and scared, I and Jordan do not know what to do to ease the tension between them. Daisy wants everyone to go into downtown. I do not know why she wanted to go into downtown. Then I saw Tom seemed angry. We went to the Plaza Hotel. At first we talked normally, but Tom still seemed unhappy about the presence of Mr. Gatsby, Tom criticized Mr. Gatsby is a treacherous, lying. They argued over many issues, and suddenly panic when Mr. Gatsby announced in love with Daisy. Tom was extremely angry and insulted Mr. Gatsby. Conflicts occurred when Mr. Gatsby ready to punch Tom, but he was stopped. Mr. Gatsby tried out to advice Daisy to leave Tom but she was embarrassed and scared. She just wanted to go home. That day I really did not think it would be so bad, I thought we got Tom’s home to have meal and chat. I'm really sad because that day is my birthday.

On the way home with Jordan and Tom, we walked through a crowd. They said
there was a yellow car crash killed a woman. We went to see the victim then
discovered that is Myrtle, Tom's mistress. I heard people talking about the
driver so fast that he ran with a girl. As described by the witnesses, I think
it was Mr. Gatsby. I pray that is not true. Meanwhile, Tom is talking to
Myrtle's husband in the room. I was worried because of the increasingly
serious.
I met Mr.Gatsby are
outside Tom's house that night. He stood outside to wait for Daisy. I feel so
sorry for him, but he caused serious mistake. That night he told me a lot about
his life, the story of his business, his background, and love. I admire his talent,
he has been striving and trying to get the perfect success. But he is not lucky
in love. He revealed that the mansion is his plan to close to Daisy, and he
will live with her there. All he does is to conquer her heart. I did not think
his work is wrong, but he was late. We were talking for long.

I did not believe in the truth to hear Mr. Gatsby was shot dead in the swimming pool. It makes me incredibly poignant and painful. The shooter was Wilson, who wants to avenge for Myrtle's death. I went to his mansion to attend the funeral, I am heartbroken to see the silence of the house, which had previously held the jubilant party. The funeral of Mr. Gatsby did not have anyone to visit, only correspondent came to hunt some news and picture then I was angry to see them. I was just hoping that Daisy will come, but the Tom family has moved to another place. I was at the funeral for all funeral time.
The story of Jay Gatsby is the harrowing story of my life. I wrote
a novel about him. The story of a powerful gentleman to find true love, The
Great Gatsby. I think I was a crucial point because I was a witness
from the beginning to the end of the story.
